thick as a teenager

Escapism was the central theme of my misspent youth.

Among my many rather pointless feats from that era, all of which are of a pathetically solitary nature, and all of which manage to cleverly sidestep athletic achievements, public performances and bedding women, committing the complete lyrics of Jethro Tull’s ‘Thick as a Brick’ to memory, all glorious 43 minutes and 46 seconds of it, holds a place of distinction.

I would often imagine myself performing a slightly heavier version of the song alongside a band (playing something silly like, perhaps, a piccolo).
