the rites of initiation

Today, I am a great ball of fire, perched at the focal point of an immense circle of hope.

Today, I am the perpetrator of positive magick, a white warlock.

Today, I am a goblet filled to the brim with magnanimity and the milk of human kindness.

So come hither my children. Gather round the bonfire of my crackling bones. Bask in the warmth radiating thereof. Come closer, and I shall let you dip your feet in my lake of contentment. And I shall tell you a precious secret.

There shall be times in your life when you’re going to find yourself at the bottom of a bottomless pit where the sun never shines. And the fragile form of human hope shall stop flailing its arms and murmuring incoherently, as if all dead. Shiver. But wrap your fingers over the tiny flicker of your most impossible dream. For around this corner or that, it shall stand to break your fall.

There shall be times when Lucifer shall offer a hand from close quarters, and an angel shall hover high up above you, but out of your failing sight. And it shall be up to you to hold Lucifer's hand and pull yourself up, or crawl your way to that barely visible needlehead of light. But understand, it doesn’t matter which way you take, for the Angel and Lucifer are mere pathways to what you shall know anyhow, and that there is a place beyond pain and pleasure.

So don’t you give up. And don’t you give in. Just throw caution to the winds. And let it begin.

PS: On the side, I did get hold of my ‘Object of Desire’. Time to start chasing my ‘Elusive Dream’ now.

Congratulations on the new house, Manish, way to go.

And I realized that there is at least one more person I know who loved SRV!!!! What are the odds?

‘Revelations’ ring a bell here. I loved that one & adore this one equally. You precisely share my thoughts for I suppose as well that there is a place beyond pain and pleasure, ache and delight, hurt and happiness. To think of it, we keep visiting that revered, rigid, unattainable, transparent or unapproachable haven once in a blue moon. But then we return to dwell in our standard, dense, convenient, realistic, I-dominated habitat. Deep retrospection, determined effort, equanimity, observation & an uphill struggle required to make that place home. Free from pain,Free from pleasure. Gr8 entry.:)

Anurag: SRV is splendid. And if anyone disagrees to that, let's assume they don't know who he is. and let's pray that someday they would.

Bhavv: Now that you mention it Bhavv, this does look like a sequel to 'Revelations' (http://manishpeaks.blogspot.com/2005/01/revelations.html).
